Celery Shown to Lower Cholesterol and Blood Pressure

A study at the University of Chicago Medical Center, celery helped lower cholesterol and blood pressure levels. Phthalide, a chemical compound in celery, was shown to reduce blood pressure in laboratory rats by up to 14 percent and lower LDL cholesterol levels by about 7 percent. Celery also stimulates the excretion of bile acids which removes cholesterol from the body.

Donna’s Testimony

In August 2018 I started faithfully drinking 16 oz of celery juice with nothing else in it and then waiting at least 15 minutes before drinking coffee to let the mineral salts do their thing. I had my labs done in April 2019. My last labs were done in March 2018. My cholesterol was down 25 points. My liver enzymes had been elevated slightly before and came down 24 points. My sugar was in normal range whereas it had been elevated. My thyroid levels evened out. I had been taking Naturethroid sporadically so that may have helped some but not all. I’ve had chronic dehydration and that is much better!! Wow!! I won’t say I love celery juice because to be quite frank I really just get it over with, but the results have been amazing and I will not stop!! 

Juice Recipe

Fresh Garden Medley

  • ¼ small head red cabbage
  • 4 ribs of organic celery with leaves
  • 4 carrots, scrubbed well, tops removed and ends trimmed
  • 1 dark green lettuce leaf
  • ½-inch-chunk ginger root

Cut produce to fit your juicer’s feed tube. Juice ingredients and stir. Pour into a glass and drink as soon as possible. Serves 1–2.
