Apple Cider Vinegar for Weight Loss & Detox

Raw apple cider vinegar is known to promote weight loss by speeding up the metabolism. You can tell the raw vinegar (aside from the label) because it’s cloudy and has the “mother,” which is sediment that is filled with enzymes and gut-friendly bacteria. Its acetic acid suppresses your appetite, and reduces water retention. If you drink a glass of water with 1 or 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar before your meals, the insoluble fiber could help you feel full with less food. The fiber will also decrease the likelihood of you binging on unhealthy foods between meals. The acid in apple cider vinegar can help your body break down the protein you eat into amino acids, which will help increase growth hormone. This hormone is particularly important for weight loss. Growth hormone is instrumental in the breakdown of fat cells. Mix 2 teaspoons of the vinegar into a glass of water and drink this before every meal or sip it slowly throughout the day.

Spicy Apple Cider Vinegar Lemon Tonic 

Apple Cider VinegarAccording to the University of Maryland Medical Center, capsaicin can cause a slight increase in total body temperature, which in turn increases the body’s metabolic rate.

  • 24 oz of water
  • 1/4 cup raw apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon of raw honey or coconut nectar
  • juice of half a lemon

Mix all ingredients together in a shaker jar or blender.

  1. Currently drinking apple cider vinegar, molasses and cayenne, before meals. I have noticed my last night snacking has stopped and sweet foods have listed it’s appeal. I want to lose 70+ pounds, howeverI concerned about increase salt. Will it elevate my BP?

    I have a question concerning yhour recent email “Spicy Apple Cider Vinegar Lemon Tonic” Can I drink the entire tonic throughout the day? As for weight loss you suggest 1-2 tablespoons of ACV with water before a meal and or your spicy ACV lemon tonic?

  3. Hello Cherie, I noticed your juice recipes use spinach and no kale. I have done detoxes, but instead of spinach I used kale, can I use kale in place of spinach?
    I have been drinking apple cider vinegar with water every morning for the last 4 years, can I continue to do so while detoxing?

    I am trying Apple Cider vinegar this month, as part of a detox plan and also leaky gut, great information. Is this good for Candida overgrowth as well? Vinegar , does it erode teeth enamel? Thanks for all your information on healthy living!

    • Some programs recommend you avoid vinegar if you have yeast problems. Vinegar can erode enamel. Rinse your mouth after drinking.

    When I drink apple cider vinegar it makes my stomach hurt and burns. I have tried it in all kinds of liquids and dilutions and I still have the same reaction.

    • It sounds like you might be too acidic. Have you tried 1/4 tsp of baking soda in water?
