Green Juices Cleanse and Nourish the Liver & Cleanse the Blood

Chlorophyll is the plant pigment that gives vegetables and fruit their green color. Chlorophyll is a blood purifier. Green foods are rich in isothiocyanates, which generate enzymes in the liver that assist the body in removing carcinogenic compounds. Cruciferous veggies such as broccoli, cabbage, and brussels sprouts contain the phytonutrient insoles and isothiocyanates that have anticancer properties. And sulforaphane, which is a phytochemical in cruciferous vegetables that have been shown to detoxify cancer-causing chemicals before they can damage your body. Green foods nourish your liver.

Wheatgrass is your quintessential green. It’s considered the healthiest green on earth. It helps you detox at the cellular level. And it’s excellent to help detox the liver. A 2014 study in the Journal of Membrane Biology showed that wheatgrass consumption could even protect the liver against the detrimental effects of alcohol. (If you want to get a really good liver cleanse, add the 30-Day Detox and the Internal Cleanse Kit.)

Wheatgrass also helps you gain energy and improves your immune system. One 2004 study found that it is a powerful red blood cell booster. If you can’t get fresh wheatgrass juice, I recommend Sweet Wheat—powder or capsules. It’s the next best thing to the fresh juice. You can add the powder to fresh juice.
