When food is broken down during digestion, your gut works very hard to absorb the nutrients from that food. Your Gut and What You Eat

It is so important to eat a high-fiber diet. The veggies highest in fiber are your cruciferous vegetables—Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, and broccoli. Eat at least 3 cups per week along with other high-fiber foods. This will help promote regular bowel movements. Include probiotic-rich foods such as sauer­kraut, miso, and yogurt con­tain­ing live and active cultures.

Serves 1

  • 1 cucumber, peeled if not organic
  • 1 handful spinach, washed
  • 1 handful parsley, washed
  • 1 rib celery, washed
  • 1/4 medium lemon, peeled

Cut the cucumber in half or the size that will fit your juicer feed tube. Bunch up the spinach and parsley and push through the juicer with the cucumber, celery, and lemon.
