3 Juices that Ease Pain

1) Ginger Juice

The Journal of Pain reported that “ginger is an effective natural anti-inflammatory that helps reduce pain and inflammation.” The researchers explored the specific role that ginger has on muscle pain. In one study, Dr. Srivastava at Odense University in Denmark “gave arthritic patients small amounts of ginger daily for three months. The majority of people had significant improvements in pain, swelling, and morning stiffness by eating ginger daily.”1 Adding ginger to your juice recipes each day is an easy way to get ginger in your diet.

2) Turmeric Juice

A study published in The Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine in 2009 “compared the active ingredient in turmeric, curcumin, with ibuprofen for pain relief in 107 people with knee osteoarthritis. The curcumin eased pain and improved function about as well as the ibuprofen. Another study, by researchers at Baylor University Medical Center in 2008, reported that taking curcumin daily in moderate doses for up to three months was safe.”2

3) Tart Cherry Juice

A number of studies show that tart cherry juice can relieve pain.  Johns Hopkins Hospital found that dark cherry juice contains anthocyanin that effectively reduced painful inflammation. Studies have also shown that this juice can relieve muscle pain related to intense workout. And cherries are well known for reducing the pain associated with gout.
