Watercress Soup Diet; Wildly Successful Weight Loss

William Patterson University conducted a study that ranked watercress at the #1 spot with a perfect score for the healthiest food. They looked at levels of key nutrients and found watercress to be the best overall in providing a wide variety of nutrients. Many studies have looked at fruit and vegetables and called them superstars for being high in one nutrient. But it is a variety of nutrients that are important for overall health and watercress got the top score. The study was published in the CDC’s journal Preventing Chronic Disease. (1)

The study looked at folate, vitamin D, vitamin A, potassium and protein, based on the assumption of a 2,000-calorie per day diet, Watercress came in first, followed by Chinese cabbage and chard was third. Watercress has more vitamin C than oranges, more calcium than milk and more folate than a banana. One study showed that there was a 22% reduction in breast cancer for women who consumed adequate folate. (2) Folate is also important for a healthy brain as well as to prevent stroke, depression and birth defects.

Watercress Soup Weight Loss Diet Results

Watercress has been shown to facilitate weight loss based on a UK study. I just completed a 3-week pilot study with 55 women who lost weight and found similar results to the UK study. For many of the women, this diet worked when nothing else had. Congratulations to everyone who participated.

    can you please tell me what kind of juicer i should get there is lot of talk about cold pressed juicers, what do you think. you are the expert

    • Cold pressed juicers are great but they take more time to use. I have a Breville 800 JEXL. It’s centrifugal. It’s fast and easy to clean.
