Hope for Tired Adrenals
Having suffered from adrenal fatigue, I know firsthand what it is to experience the symptoms that are considered to be indicative of adrenal fatigue—body aches, low blood pressure, sleep disturbances, and lightheadedness especially when standing up quickly.  There are many suboptimal conditions that people experience that cannot be diagnosed with standard tests given by allopathic doctors.  A typical test that naturopathic doctors and other holistic physicians recommend is the saliva test.  It will give you a measurement of adrenal hormone production at different times of day and night. 
Dr. James Wilson is well known for his work with adrenal fatigue.  He says, “Adrenal fatigue is a collection of signs and symptoms, known as a syndrome, that results when the adrenal glands function below the necessary level. Most commonly associated with intense or prolonged stress, it can also arise during or after acute or chronic infections, especially respiratory infections such as influenza, bronchitis or pneumonia. As the name suggests, its paramount symptom is fatigue that is not relieved by sleep but it is not a readily identifiable entity like measles or a growth on your finger. You may look and act relatively normal with adrenal fatigue and may not have any obvious signs of physical illness, yet you live with a general sense of un-wellness, tiredness, or a”gray” or blue feeling. People experiencing adrenal fatigue often have to use coffee, colas, energy drinks, or other stimulants to get going in the morning and to prop themselves up during the day.
Adrenal fatigue can wreak havoc with your life. In the more serious cases, the activity of the adrenal glands is so diminished that you may have difficulty getting out of bed for more than a few hours per day. With each increment of reduction in adrenal function, every organ and system in your body is more profoundly affected. Changes occur in your carbohydrate, protein and fat metabolism, fluid and electrolyte balance, heart and cardiovascular system, and even sex drive. Many other alterations take place at the biochemical and cellular levels to compensate for the decrease in adrenal hormones that occurs with adrenal fatigue. Your body does its best to make up for under-functioning adrenal glands, but it does so at a price.”1

Here’s what you can do:
1) Take extra vitamin C. The adrenal glands need plenty of vitamin C. Take to bowel tolerance, meaning loose stool. Start with 500 mg or whatever you normally take and increase by 500 mg per day until you reach loose stool. Then cut back by 500 mg.
2) Juice celery—it’s rich in natural sodium which is great for the adrenals.
3) Include quality protein—this is very important for the adrenals.
4) Take Vitality Renew—a supplement for the adrenals.
5) Get 8-9 hours of sleep; this is restorative for the adrenal glands.

Adrenal Booster Cocktail

Hot peppers and parsley are rich in vitamin C; celery is a great source of natural sodium.  Both are very beneficial for the adrenal glands.

4 carrots
2 tomatoes
2 ribs celery
1 handful parsley
Dash of hot sauce or 1/4 jalapeno pepper
Dash of celery salt (optional)Pinch of sea salt*

Cut produce to fit your juicer’s feed tube.  Juice ingredients and stir.  Pour into a glass and drink as soon as possible.

*Note: Sea salt is very good for the adrenal glands.
